FLOOD OF AGES is a brandnew heavy metal band featuring former STYGMA IV guitarist Günter Maier.
The german-austrian connection was founded in january 2006 and FLOOD OF AGES is already working on new songs and planning to release them as soon as possible.

Guitarist Günter Maier and singer/bassplayer Wolfgang Juratsch know each other for more than 20 years.
Both always had the idea to set up a project together, but time just never seemed right for it.
When Günter Maier as well as Wolfgang Juratsch split up with their former bands, Günter gave
Wolfgang a call to tell him that their time had finally come.
Wolfgang told Günter about the fantastic german drummer Hannes Vordermayer, who was at that time looking for new band colleagues. Hannes is now completing the lineup of FLOOD OF AGES.

This seems funny since Günter Maier was in the same situation about 16 years ago, when bass player Alex recommended drummer Herb to join Günter Maier’s former band STYGMA IV.

FOA was born when the band wrote three songs together during their first rehearsal.

At this point FLOOD OF AGES are ready to complete their 10th song and the first recordings will start during april 2006.

During the recording sessions to the forthcoming demo it went more and more clear that there has to be a strong voice all over the music.
The lineup is complete now with the german singer Jürgen Dachl.

After releasing their first demo in 2006 and playing some liveshows in their local area FLOOD OF AGES began to write new songs, more specified for the voice of Jürgen.
The new demo "NEW CENTURY METAL POWER" combines all the trademarks on which FOA were working during the last months.
From the epic track "ESKIMOS ON FIRE" over the more traditional song "HELLFIRE" to the very modern sounding "I MUST DIE".
Always keeping in mind that there is a present in metal, but that there is a past in musical history too.

FOA’s music mirrors powerful and straight ahead heavy metal.

although most songs are arranged in a modern style, the music never loses focus on the classic heavy metal approach.

FLOOD OF AGES – this is an outstanding voice, mighty guitars combined with high energy bass playing and smooth keyboard samples mixed with driving force drums.
This combination is definitely spreading a powerful and magic atmosphere!
No real metalhead will be disappointed with this!

it is not easy to compare the music of FLOOD OF AGES with other bands.
The band’s unique sound will stand up for it's own style.

over the past few years Wolfgang Juratsch was more into thrash metal, whereas Günter Maier and his band STYGMA IV represented the powermetal type, Hannes Vordermayer’s preference is today’s heavy metal and Jürgen Dachl’s taste is more gothicmetal.

Günter always wanted to force STYGMA IV’s musical style in direction of songs like "GREEDMACHINE" or "ROOM 11"...
